The amount of buzz surrounding VÉRITÉ is truly amazing and well justified which is probably one of the many reasons that her Thursday, March 22nd show at The Cedar Cultural Center has already sold out (well, that and an amazing headliner). Having stumbled into one of her shows last August as the Entry, I can tell you from experience that this show is more than worth your attention. Kelsey Byrne, known professionally as VÉRITÉ , is an American singer and songwriter based in New York City. Her first single “Strange Enough” was self-released in July 2014, reaching number one on Hype Machine and becoming the #1 Most Viral Twitter Artist the week of release. Call her music indie, pop, indie-pop– whatever you want to call it– it’s infectious, toe-tapping, smile inducing, and just flat out fun. With only one album out (Somewhere In Between released last year) and only a couple of EP’s and singles, VÉRITÉ became an overnight sensation that it seems like nobody can shake and for good reason.
Headlining this show will be Dublin-based Eden. In the early stages of finding his voice as an artist, singer/songwriter/producer EDEN made only one rule for himself: “I could do whatever I wanted, as long as it didn’t sound like anything I’d ever heard,” says the 21-year-old otherwise known as Jonathon Ng. With his upcoming EP ‘I Think You Think Too Much Of Me,’ EDEN channels that passion for innovation into a guitar-heavy take on electronic pop and proves himself an artist of uncompromising originality.
Many of the dates on this tour have sold out including the one here at The Cedar Cultural Center.
