I am super excited to finally have the chance to cross The Birthday Massacre off my bucketlist! They are coming to The Fine Line on Tuesday, March 1st and you definitely want to be there!

A captivating hybrid of ’80s electronica and aggressive guitars, curiously fused with a cinematic quality of melodic progressions, The Birthday Massacre’s soundscapes have encapsulated a diverse and devout fan base. Formed in 2000 under the name Imagica, the band played their first show at Diversity Nightclub in London, Ontario, Canada. Their original lineup consisted of Chibi (vocals), Rainbow (rhythm guitar), Michael Falcore (lead guitar), Aslan (bass guitar), and Dank (keyboards). With this lineup, plus the addition of OE on percussion, they released a seven song demo EP in very limited edition.

Julien-K will be joining The Birthday Massacre. Amir Derakh and Ryan Shuck have been musical collaborators for 15+ years. During their time together they have weaved in and out of mainstream music like a constantly evolving musical fashion house. In the late ’90s they were responsible for massive radio and sales hits such as “Blind” (Korn), “Blue Monday”,” Stitches”, and “Fiction” (Orgy), and recently “Crawl Back In” and “Let Down” (Dead By Sunrise, with their close friend Chester Bennington).

Local group Plague of Stars will get the night started off right so get there early! Plague of Stars began in 2012 and includes: Melissa Ferlaak (Napalm Records’ Visions of Atlantis, Aesma Daeva, recent Therion’s “Beloved Antichrist” guest), Will Maravelas (Coffin Rites, Chalice of Suffering, We Are Legion) Aaron Lanik (Ysilik, Chalice of Suffering, We Are Legion), Frodo Caulfield (The Omega Sequence), and Neal Pruett (Mastiff, Oppress the Tyrant) Additionally, the group works with VoA Voxyd (Ad Inferna) for additional keyboard and atmospheric elements.
