Minnesota native Mod Sun is bringing his “Your Favorite Movie Tour” to First Avenue on Sunday, March 1st and you really don’t want to miss it.

It can be far too easy to get caught in negativity in today’s world. We’re surrounded by it in the news, the media and even entertainment. And that’s what makes Mod Sun’s music and message all the more refreshing. “It’s about empowerment. It’s about saying it’s okay to sit by yourself on a Friday night and make music. You’ll never be lonely if you love the person you’re alone with,” says the rapper, whose name stands for “Movement On Dreams Stand Under None.”

A Minnesota native, Mod grew up in a household that played everything from Bob Dylan to Prince, and that eclectic foundation has informed his musical journey. He started playing drums at age 13, and by 16, he began touring with a few bands, including the successful rock group Four Letter Lie. But his heart told him to go after something else. “I was in a state of comfort, touring and in a band, and I decided I wanted to totally change it up and do something I believed in,” the 27-year-old remembers.

7715 will be one of the openers on this show. Every house tells its own story. Though the specific details may be a little foggy now, the story of 7715 Bluebell Avenue in Southern California comprises parties to rival Project X and The Hangover, magical impromptu late-night jam sessions, and the start of an eternal friendship and musical union for its denizens—Stu Da Boi, Tyler Wilson, JP Clark, Dan Geraghty and JRM. A year after moving out (and getting tattoos of the address), the five lifelong musicians penned a song together in order to help Stu get over a breakup during January 2018.

Get there in time to catch Pablo Dylan! Pablo possessed the rare ambition to make his mark on the music industry at a very young age. In his early teens, Pablo focused on finding his voice by experimenting with a number of musical styles, eventually earning production credits through collaborations with artists like Erykah Badu, ASAP Rocky, OG Maco, D.R.A.M., and Brent Faiyaz. Pablo soon grew disillusioned with the highly-influenced process of creating music simply with focus on sales projections instead of artistic integrity. So, he took a break from releasing music, locked himself in the studio and thus began his journey into a new-found sound.

Also joining in on the fun will be Aye B (24 year old Writer/Recording Artist & Producer born and raised in Northern California) and New Hippys (a group consisting of Lostinvegas, Winter Havens and Jimmy Bennett).
