Don’t Miss Michigander 10/6 at 7th Street Entry

A personal favorite of mine, Michigander, will be at The Entry on Sunday, October 6th. Believe me when I say you can not miss this.

Hailing from somewhere in the great lakes state, Michigander was born out of restless feet and the need to say something. Though live shows and recordings consist of a full band, at its core, Michigander is a solo project formed by frontman, Jason Singer. Releasing music and touring since 2016, the band has attained recognition on a national scale while becoming a staple of the midwest music scene. Including being featured in Paste, NPR, NME, Huffpost as well as other publications.

Michigander has also played festivals along side bands such as Foster the People, Father John Misty, alt-j, Local Natives, and Solange. As well as shared billing with Hippo Campus, Mt. Joy, Tokyo Police Club, Twin Peaks and Ra Ra Riot (amongst others). The band has also done sessions with Audiotree and Daytrotter and has had music licensed with MTV. Currently Michigander is working on a follow up EP to 2018’s Midland, which is due out in 2019.

A local favorite oof mine- Whosah- will be opening up the show. Though the five-piece calls Minneapolis their stomping grounds, they have found home to be wherever their craft takes them- from college campuses and bars across the Midwest to sharing the stage with artists like Mat Kearney, Betty Who, Peter Bjorn and John, Hippo Campus, Now Now, Flor, and Jesse McCartney. Whosah has won the University of Minnesota’s Spring Jam Battle of the Bands, been featured on popular shows like NBC’s A to Z and MTV’s Snookie and JWoww and Target’s back-to-school campaign.

Warren Thomas Fenzi will get things started. Warren Thomas Fenzi is best known for his explorations in sound, story telling and songwriting that draw from the wide open landscapes of the Southwest of which he grew up around. As a multi-instrumentalist, Fenzi concocts a diverse array of sounds and styles hinting at Indie Rock, Ambient, Soul and Folk. His aim is to create something refreshing, inspiring and innovative while inviting his listeners on a journey of introspection.
