Don’t let another Sunday Funday pass you by! Make sure to get out to The Cabooze Outdoor Plaza on Sunday, June 17th for a can’t miss performance from the one and only Dirty Heads. After two decades spent chiselling their unique, multi-genre infused sound, Dirty Heads have finally come into their own. Since the release of their 2008 debut Any Port in a Storm, the five-piece band — Jared Watson (vocals), Dustin “Duddy B” Bushnell (vocals/guitar), Jon Olazabal (percussion), Matt Ochoa (drums) and David Foral (bass) — has consistently experimented with their sunny style, leaning heavily on reggae fused with hip-hop cornerstones and scaling back for more acoustic fare, darting between extremes. But it’s with their fifth and self-titled album that the group has felt fully confident in a body of work, ready to bring their unique style to the masses.

With a solid fan-base already in place, Dirty Heads are focusing their sights on something they’ve been edging towards for years: breaking the mainstream. “We want our fans to love it, because we love what we do and we want to keep doing it,” says Watson. “But this album for me, I cannot poke a hole in any of it. From front to back, it’s really so phenomenal. I’m so confident in it that I want it to take Dirty Heads from the band that we are in America, worldwide.”

Joining Dirty Heads will be Iration. Iration is an alternative/reggae group of musicians formed in Isla Vista, CA. A deep-rooted reggae influence is fused with elements of rock and pop to create smooth original sounds – “We’re all about luv”, states the band. The group is made up of members Joseph Dickens (Drums), Joseph King (Engineer), Cayson Peterson (Keyboard/Synth), Micah Pueschel (Guitar/Lead Vocals), Adam Taylor (Bass), and Micah Brown (Guitar/Vocals). All of the members of Iration met while growing up in Hawaii but formed the band after reconnecting in Santa Barbara, CA – the exception being Micah Brown who officially joined the group in 2014. Iration has been touring nationally since 2008, performing at national festivals like Lollapalooza, Outside Lands, Hangout, and many others. These Hawaiian-bred musicians look forward to spreading their original sound and Aloha spirit all the while never forgetting to get a surf in when possible.

The Movement will also be taking over the stage. Rock, Reggae and Hip Hop: Each is definable, recognizable and at once familiar to people the world over–but never before have those three forms of musical expression been blended into a sound that is as indefinable as it is recognizable and familiar. Enter the Philadelphia quartet known as The Movement.

Meet Pacific Dub, the band kicking off the show: Comprised of vocalist and rhythm guitarist- Colton Place, lead guitarist- Bryce Klemer, bassist- Ryan Naglich, drummer- David Delaney, keyboardist- Justin Quaress, and audio engineer- Casey Eubanks; Pacific Dub is one of the youngest and newest bands to solidify themselves as professionals within the Reggae-Rock scene. Coming from Surf City USA, Pacific Dub resides in Huntington Beach which is nestled nicely in southern California’s Orange County. Other bands such as Korn, The Offspring, Avenged Sevenfold, and The Dirty Heads all have members that call this surfer’s paradise home.
