Have you been just waiting for your chance to catch Deftones live? Well, your chance is now as they take over The Armory in Minneapolis on Saturday, May 28th as the last date on their tour (which was originally scheduled for 2020 and then 2021).
The multi-platinum, Grammy award-winning Deftones have sold 10 million records worldwide as of 2020. They have also curated, launched, presented, and headlined their own festival, Dia De Los Deftones, in 2018. In 2020, the band continued their musical steam as an alternative leader with their ninth full-length album, Ohms, which scored the band their fourth Top Five release. The band’s breakthrough within the alternative and metal scene came in 1997 with the follow-up “Around the Fur”. Songs like “My Own Summer (Shove It)” and “Be Quiet and Drive (Far Away)” became international anthems and pioneers for the nu-metal movement of the late nineties. Performances at festivals like Pinkpop, Roskilde and Ozzfest and the Warped Tour follow. One of their songs made it onto the soundtrack of the iconic first installment of the Matrix series, bringing the Deftones to the attention of a wider audience.
Heavy-hitting band (that you absolutely just have to see for yourself) Gojira will be supporting Deftones for this show.
