Anna Meredith at the Parkway – TICKETS
Described by Pitchfork as “one of the most innovative voices in British music,” Anna Meredith’s work straddles the worlds of contemporary classical, art pop, electronica and experimental rock. Meredith was a Composer in Residence with the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra and is regularly commissioned by orchestras around the world. Her 2019 sophomore album FIBS is 45 minutes of technicolor maximalism and boasts a visceral richness and unparalleled accessibility that sees Meredith combining her unique compositional voice with instruments, both acoustic and electronic. Press highlights for FIBS include features with The New York Times, Vanity Fair, and inclusion in Pitchfork’s “Best Experimental Albums of 2019.” Meredith’s latest release, 2020’s Bumps Per Minute: 18 Studies for Dodgems, is a full-throttle reinvention of the traditional fairground dodgems (aka bumper cars). It soundtracked the DODGE installation last summer at Somerset House, London. The album explodes out of the starting gate with Meredith’s uncategorizable sound and signature energy, combining fairground wildness with a healthy dose of the nostalgic electronics of old school gaming.

Porches at the Turf Club – TICKETS
The tour is in support of Porches fifth album, the exuberant and audacious All Day Gentle Hold !. The album is a celebratory collection of songs; harder, faster, shorter and louder than any other Porches record, it’s direct and pointed, charged up and chaotic.
I’ve been making music as Porches since 2009. It’s an ongoing exploration of any sounds or ideas that I find interesting in a particular moment. Ideally, as time passes, these seemingly disparate ideas will become unified in the context of the Porches catalogue. Kind of like a public diary. My aim is to swim to the bottom of myself and find the most beautiful and strange things I can offer. Porches is my love affair with music and my love affair with the world. Music keeps me alive and I hope these songs can serve the people that listen to them as well.
