With Minneapolis and surrounding areas getting their first big snowfall on December 28th, it was a great chance to unwind from the first part of the holiday’s and catch Colin Campbell & The C-Notes live at First Avenue’s 7th Street Entry. With the venue nicely packed and near capacity, The C-Notes took to the stage and never looked back. The crowd connection was immediate and several danced and stirred about.
The band played an impressive 13 song set that combined originals like ‘Something Drastic’, ‘Lil Hippo’ and ‘Psycho Killer’ along with some popular covers ‘Can’t Hardly Wait’ (Replacements) and ‘Benny & the Jets’ (Elton John). The performance was spot on and filled with high-energy.
The weather may have been cold and snow filled outside, but the 7th Street Entry atmosphere was warm with showmanship and well executed performance.
