Carrie Underwood lights up the Xcel Energy Center

Carrie Underwood a native of Checotah, Oklahoma. American Idol season four winner hit the music scene with a splash. She has released four studio albums – Some Hearts, Carnival Ride, Play On, and Blown Away. They all have each been certified Platinum or multi-Platinum, and all have been named Country Album of the Year at the American Music Awards. In 2014, Carrie released her first hits collection, Greatest Hits: Decade #1. Storyteller has already continued that momentum with the record-breaking success of the hit first single, “Smoke Break.”  Carrie has been awarded with 7 Grammy Awards, 17 Billboard Music Awards, 12 Academy of Country Music Awards and 9 American Music Awards to date.

Country music duo The Swon Brothers opened the concert in great country fashion. They played a quick twenty minute set. The brothers made use of the enormous stage by shaking hands with as many fans as they could reach. Colton Swon actually laid down on the stage to touch hands with a young country fan. The fans loved the energetic duo from Oklahoma.

Florida’s own country boy Easton Corbin opened the show for Carrie Underwood. Easton just released his new album “About to get Real’ in June 2016. He played a fantastic forty five minute set. The crowd was dancing and ready to party. The fans were singing along to every song with Easton. The energy at the Xcel was starting to build with excitement.

The Lights went out and the AC/DC song “Back in Black” rangout. The spot lights began scanning the crowd with the beat. The lights came up to Carrie standing on top of a three tier platform attached to the rafters of the Xcel Energy Center. The screams and cheers were so loud it was incredible. Carrie opened her set with the song “Renegade Runaway”. She played a twenty song set list with two encore songs. The setlist included chart toppers “Last Name”,”Church Bells”,”Jesus,Take the Wheel”,”Cowboy Casanova” and so many more. Carrie also played a Dolly Parton cover “I Will Always Love You” and a Alabama cover of “Mountain Music”. The high energy packed show ended with the song “Something in the Water”. WOW what a concert !!
