Mavis Staples first began singing with her family in 1948, moving over time from the gospel circuit to radio and eventually even to stadium shows, collecting a No. 1 hit along the way and adding almost every musical genre to her repertoire. She has performed with Bob Dylan, Booker T., Ray Charles and many other music icons. In 2017, Mavis was a guest vocalist on Arcade Fire’s single “I Give You Power”. In 2018, she also sang and co-wrote Hozier’s single “Nina Cried Power”.

On February 8th, 2019, Mavis celebrated her 79th birthday at London’s Union Chapel performing and recoding her latest album “Mavis Staples Live in London”.
