Bring On The Nostalgia– Thrice and Circa Survive To Co-Headline 12/8 Show At Myth

California based Thrice will be taking over the Myth in Maplewood on Friday, December 8th. Since their debut album “Identity Crisis” in 2000, Thrice has become one of the most influential bands in the post-hardcore movement and continue to show their strength with great releases and sold out tours. Thrice’s newest album “To Be Everywhere Is To Be Nowhere” just proves that, although years have passed and even with a short hiatus, not much has changed with this quintessential group. Their sound stays true to that unique mix of post-hardcore, pop-punk and melodic-hardcore that had a whole generation falling head over heels for them. Although this tour is in support of their new album, there’s no question that they will be honoring some of their tried and true classics. It’s definitely going to be a set full of sing-a-longs for kids like me who grew up worshiping Thrice and everything they released.

Co-Headlining the Friday night show is Circa Survive which is another nostalgic favorite for many people my age. Hailing from Pennsylvania, Circa Survive is another influential and quintessential group that I grew up with and I am more than thrilled to see them on this bill. The line-up of this group hasn’t changed since they began in 2004 which gives this group a very cohesive sound and amazing chemistry on stage. Singer Anthony Green is a bit of a God in the scene and, although he has been in many projects over the years including Saosin, The Sound of Animals Fighting, and many more, Circa Survive will always be my favorite project of his. Anthony’s tenor voice is distinctive and beautiful and really gives this group a hand up on the other bands in the over-saturated genre. Much like Thrice, I think it’s safe to assume that we will be hearing new and old songs from Circa Survive and you won’t want to miss it.

Opening the show will be Chon and Balance & Composure. Both of these bands deserve your attention and I can’t wait to see them! This date will be the last on this tour so I’m sure all of the bands will be pulling out all of the stops.

Tickets are still available here.
