Bon Jovi Powers Through the Xcel Energy Center in a Blaze of Glory

Bon Jovi played to a near capacity crowd at Xcel Energy Center on Monday night in a full blaze of glory. As the lights dropped, New Jersey rockers hit the stage ground running with ‘This House Is Not For Sale’ and immediately followed on with the song ‘Knockout’. The Grammy winners, whose hits include “Blaze of Glory,” “Runaway” and “You Give Love a Bad Name,” are touring in support of their latest album, ‘This House Is Not For Sale’. Judging from the huge, continuous roar from the crowd, Bon Jovi’s popularity is still going strong.

Opening the show, Minneapolis-based Step Rockets delivered an outstanding set. Step Rockets won a recent competition conducted by Bon Jovi to put a local band in the opening slot for each venue along the tour. Step Rockets songs seem to have many influences, often rock with some synthesizers and electronic sounds. The band’s song, “Kisser,” recently went viral, getting played millions of times online. Step Rockets has traveled around the country, playing venues and festivals. This certain showed through during their set.
