Augustana Takes To The Varsity On 11.16

We don’t have to be in Boston to hear one of Augustana’s greatest hits this November, as frontman Dan Layus will be bringing their solo tour to The Varsity on November 16th. Alongside Lyus will also be John-Robert, and tickets are still available HERE

Augustana, as a band, formed in San Diego back in the early 2000’s and blessed my youthful ears (alongside many others) with all-time hits such as “Boston,” “Sweet and Low” and countless others. An indie-rock group by trade, times have changed and Layus is actually the sole remaining musician of the act; talk about absolute bravery taking to the road, carrying a banner of that sort. They say if it’s broke don’t fix it, and that’s quite the case for this act as they have not released a studio album in over 5 years, but that only shows how timeless their work really is – not to mention their most recent piece was their first and only live album (properly titled Live) that dropped as recently as 2021.

Before Dan takes the stage, we will have the chance to also catch John-Robert. John-Robert’s most recent single dropped in the fall of 2021, titled “Good Company” and we’d highly encourage you to check it out. JR has several albums out on the market, with their most recent being Healthy Baby Boy, Pt. 1. We can’t wait to learn more about the artist that claims to be sponsored by Swedish Fish… Unofficially!

Join us this next Tuesday at The Varsity!
