If you’ve been paying any attention to what’s been going on in the Minneapolis local music scene for the past few decades, you know about Atmosphere. Local hip-hop legends, founding fathers of Rhymesayers Entertainment, and just general, all-around musical powerhouses.
Each time they announce a hometown show, it sells out… and then a second date is (almost) always added…. which is exactly what happened when they announced that they would be playing at the Palace Theatre! They will be playing on Friday 12/14 and Saturday 12/15– and there are still tickets available for Friday’s performance.
The opening acts are all local hip-hop scene favorites. DJ Keezy will be starting the night off, bringing the perfect jams and good time that only a woman can. Continuing the girl power is The Lioness, a rapper from the North side (who just so happened to be my favorite act at Soundset this year!) The final opener will be deM-atlaS, who is a local legend himself. Nowadays it feels rare to see Atmosphere without seeing deM-atlaS open, and that’s a great connection to have.
If history tells us anything, it’s that this show will sell out! So get your tickets now and opt in to a night full of great music, and love for Minneapolis, of course.
