Theory Of A Deadman Brings Down The Roof At First Avenue 8/12/2015

“All work and no play…”, everyone knows the rest. When it comes down to it, I believe if we work hard then we should play hard. Wednesday night at the historic First Avenue was a “play hard” evening as Theory of a Deadman and openers We Are Harlot and Lullwater rolled into Minneapolis.

Theory of a Deadman hit the stage and started the show as they always do: with a f’ing bang! Since they are on their new album’s touring cycle, I figured they would bust out with new music right away, but they made the First Ave crowd salivate while they kicked off the show with ‘So Happy’, ‘Panic Room’, and ‘Lowlife’. Their set continued and singer Tyler Connoly was solid and dynamic as usual. The big surprise of the night however, was during ‘Bitch Came Back’ as the part of the ceiling at First Ave collapsed. Ceiling material and water dropped on top of the crowd below. The building was immediately evacuated. There were a few minor injuries with a couple of fans being sent to the hospital. With a solid start, the remainder of the concert was cancelled.
