The Smashing Pumpkins Reunion Show Coming to Xcel Energy Center 8/19

The Smashing Pumpkins just released their new single, “Solara”, in June earlier this year. After working extensively to reform three fourths of the bands original lineup this will be the first song released by the original members in eighteen years. Of the new single, Billboard Magazine says, “’Solara’ is a chest-out rock song, loaded with grinding guitars, a pounding rhythm section, and big fills.” Make sure to take a listen below.

As this is just the first of promised songs, Billy Corgan, founding member and vocalist, provides insight on his creative process, “It’s a free-for-all. I brought in a few ideas, but I’ve learned to let it be what it’s gotta be. Sometimes if you think it’s gotta be like this, instead of just letting it be whatever it’s gonna be, you get closer to where you hoped it would be.”

Their tour, Shiny and Oh So Bright, promoting their reunion will be at the Xcel Energy Center on 8/19. A few tickets are still available HERE.

Opening for them will be Canadian rock band, Metric. Since it’s The Smashing Pumpkins reunion tour, I strongly suggest getting tickets as soon as possible as I suspect they won’t be available much longer. This is certainly a show you won’t want to pass by.
