We were informed this morning that the band had to cancel their tour:

Multi-platinum band HOOBASTANK are postponing their recently announced fall 2018 cross-country headlining tour due to an unforeseen personal matter. “The Reason Tour”–in celebration of the 15th anniversary of the release of their landmark second album of the same name–would have kept the band on the road through early December. HOOBASTANK would like to apologize to their fans for any inconvenience caused by this cancellation and look forward to heading back on the road in 2019.
The promoters will be issuing full refunds for tickets that have been purchased; ticket purchasers will be receiving an email from the promoter with further details on refunds.

Hoobastank will be at the Fine Line on November 1st as The Reason Tour makes a stop in Minneapolis to celebrate the 15th anniversary of the 2003 double-platinum album. You will hear all 12 songs of “The Reason” performed in order; an album lover’s dream. The band just returned from performing in Japan and now will be kicking off the tour on October 25th in Portland. Lead singer Doug Robb stated, “The Reason Tour signifies a lot. First, we get to revisit a time in our career that was so exciting and groundbreaking for both us and our fans. You don’t get that opportunity too often. Second, it reminds us how fortunate we have been to be able to do this for so long. It’s humbling. Each show will be like a time machine for our fans and us.”

Along with the title track “The Reason” that was a world-wide hit (#2 Billboard Hot 100 and #1 US & World Modern Rock charts plus garnering GRAMMY nominations for “Song of the Year,” “Best Rock Album” and “Best Pop Performance”) you will also hear the band’s other major hits, “Running Away” and “Crawling in the Dark,” plus songs off their new album, “Push Pull,” which came out in May.

“Push Pull” is Hoobastank’s sixth studio album and their first in six years. It has been described as a mix of rock, indie, and even pop. Robb explained, “I think we really let this album happen “organically”. Meaning we didn’t try to make a song a “rock” song if it wasn’t want to start with. We let each song turn into what it was. If it was pop, fine. If it was indie, fine. Instead of over censoring ourselves we just let it come out naturally. The inspiration behind that approach would probably just be freedom. Not feeling like we had to satisfy anyone except ourselves. Not worrying about it not fitting into any previous style.”

Two quality opening acts, Secondhand Serenade and Strange Daze, will get things started. Secondhand Serenade is acoustic guitarist John Vesely, best known for his multi-platinum single “Fall For You.” Earlier this year the Californian released “Awake: Remixed & Remastered, 10 Years & 10,000 Tears Later” to re-polish his 2007 album “Awake” and add two tracks. “I really wanted to update these songs and give them a bit of a fuller sound without changing the emotion and vibe. My fans have always gravitated towards these songs and this style so it was important to enhance them without changing the way they make my listeners feel” says Vesely. He continued, “Even the two additional songs I added still capture the vibe of the original album. I just can’t wait for my fans to hear how it all came out.”

Strange Daze, is a band from Minneapolis that caught their break when .38 Special keyboardist Bobby Capps and 3 Doors Down guitarist Chris Henderson heard their tracks. Says Henderson of Strange Daze: “They’re a refreshing band! Love the vibe and the songwriting. Scott’s vocals are very powerful.” Capps concurs, adding, “Strange Daze was a pleasant surprise in the studio! It’s been a while since I’ve come across a band that has such a tight grip on straightforward rock music. Lyrically and musically, they do not try to over complicate the listener. They are a truly talented band and prove it live every time they hit the stage.”
