Update: We just learned that this was postphoned to 10/7

In case you haven’t heard, the legendary guitarist Mike Campbell is coming to town and playing the very intimate, Fine Line on Tuesday, March 10th. Campbell is best known for being the lead guitarist from Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers. In the early 2000’s in between writing and touring with Petty, Campbell put his own band together. With hot shots like guitarist Jason Sinay who has played with people like Neil Diamond and Jerry Lee Lewis, bassist Lance Morrison from Manfred Mann and drummer Matt Laug from Don Henley, Campbell had created a band to be reckoned with. The Dirty Knobs would play randomly in Southern California throughout the years. After Petty’s passing they took the band to the next level. The Dirty Knobs recorded a full length album “Wreckless Abandon” that comes out September 18th.

The band has released one single “Wreckless Abandon” with the sound of Rickenbackers still clear in the mix, the song rocks hard and holds a catchy chorus and melody. As a long time Petty fan, it feels good to hear that guitar again. Especially knowing he may be doing some Heartbreaker songs.

“Everything I’ve been doing since Tom passed, including this album with The Dirty Knobs, is in the spirit of honoring what we did together.” – Mike Campbell

Along with The Dirty Knobs is, Jeremy Ivey. Ivey has his foot in a lot of different places. He has played in Secret Handshake and Buffalo Clover. Plus, he had his wife and country star Margo Price produce his album. Ivey describes himself as “Riding on a booger in the sneeze of space.”. His debut album “The Dream and the Dreamer” has received high praise and sent him on the road opening for the Dirty Knobs.
