Breakout your facepaint and the blackest clothes you own, Taake is stopping at the Triple Rock on Wednesday, May 31st and bringing everything scary and sinister with them. Based out of Bergen, Norway, Taake is one of the more “true” Norweigan black metal bands out there. Dressed in all black and corpsepaint on their faces, these guys are notorious for their intense music and, sometimes questionable, antics. Much like any other band in these scene, there is plenty of controversy around these guys but that has yet to stop them in decades that they have been around. With six studio albums out and more demos, EPs and live recordings than I can list, they have truly made a name for themselves and have proven that they are not going anywhere any time soon. Being able to see such a powerful band in such an intimate space is definitely something you won’t want to miss!
