Swordmetal Fest VIII Dominated 2-Days at Neisen’s

Neisen’s Sports Bar & Grill was totally crushed by Heavy Metal this past weekend for Swordmetal Fest VII. Over 35 bands controlled the 2-day line up for this years event. Bands covered a wide range across the genre from traditional Heavy Metal to a bit of Black Metal. With the majority of bands stemming from Minnesota, many other state were also represented … Wisconsin to Colorado. The huge selection of bands across the two stages, provided solid choices for those in attendance.

With a full schedule, I managed to cover some of bands on Saturday (unfortunately, I didn’t make it to the Fest on Sunday). There definitely was no shortage of energy with the crowd or the bands on stage. For an event that started at noon and a schedule that extended into the early morning hours, one would expect low periods. It never happened. Bands, merch, drawings, and evening some games kept the crowd rotating through the venue. The stages continued to pump out the volume as the crowd mingled between the two stages. In addition to the music, drink specials periodically hit the bars along with a hotwing eating challenge, a few pop-up beer drinking contest, and the traditional Miss Metal Minnesota contest. In all, it was an impressive day of solid metal.
