Portland pop punk sensations Summer Cannibals are no strangers to the First Avenue circuit.  Earlier trips through town have had them on killer bills with the likes of Chvrches and The Thermals.  They are slated for The Entry with TV Moms and Meese opening.  Tickets and details for the show can be found HERE.

The band is a member of the highly respected Kill Rock Stars stable of artists.  Front woman Jessica Boudreuax fits naturally into a line up that boasts the likes of Sleater-Kinney and Cindy Wilson.  Her searing guitar work and disaffected vocals are reminiscent of a number of the great grungy bands that have launched from the Pacific Northwest.

Cannibals have four highly respected albums under their belts to go along with a touring schedule that promises the band is on point.  Ladies and gentlemen, there’s no rock band putting more miles on the road this summer than these folks!  Pitchfork says of Full Of It:  “Summer Cannibals balance the abjection of their lyrics by playing like they’re auditioning to ride the flame-belching rig in Mad Max: Fury Road.”  The band just released Can’t Tell Me No to great reviews.

No doubt they’ll be packing a bunch of firepower and attitude into the Entry’s friendly confines.  If you’re looking to scratch that rock and roll itch, this is the place to be.

Local duo TV Moms will bring their own version of grunge to the festivities along with Minneapolis flower punk trio Meese.
