The Unified Dance Marathon took place on Saturday, November 12, 2016, at the Mall of America Rotunda. The dancers danced the day away from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. The Dance Marathon was open to all ages and skill levels. The 700 unified participants raised over 70,000 for the Special Olympics. Every hour of the UDM was jam-packed with activities for everyone to enjoy! KDWB 101.3 Dj’s Dave Ryan, Falen and Steve-O were event personalities.  The Unified Dance Marathon (UDM) included six hours of dance-filled fun to benefit Special Olympics Minnesota (SOMN)! This event offered Special Olympics supporters a new fundraising opportunity with the same fun and inclusive spirit of existing SOMN events and programs. The event featured performances by singer / song writer and Disney Channel “Girl Meets World” actress Sabrina Carpenter, James TW and Clay Borrell. The Unified Dance Marathon supports more than 8,200 Special Olympics Minnesota athletes across the state and allows them transform themselves into not only extraordinary athletes but also influential individuals.

Special Olympics Minnesota offers children and adults with intellectual disabilities year-round sports training and competition. Through Special Olympics’ athletic, health and leadership programs, people with intellectual disabilities transform themselves, their communities and the world.
