Skating Polly will ride into the Entry on 5/11

With “New Trick” the just released EP by indie band Skating Polly steps up their game a couple of steps. Stepsisters Kelli Mayo and Peyton Bighorse were recently joined full-time by their brother Kurtis Mayo. They collarborated with Veruca Salt’s co-frontwomen Louise Post and Nina Gordon to write and record an incredible set of songs. And last but not least, they got 1970’s punk-era photographer and co-founder of Slash magazine Melanie Nissen to contribute the cover art and the vinyl release will include a B-side etching hand-drawn by the band.

Skating Polly’s song-first mentality, attention to melody, and incredible understanding of dynamics has been brought to the forefront this time around, matching their intense and engaging live shows. To round out the strong female theme of their show they get help from local bands Kitten Forever and Tony Peachka. All that power will descend on First Avenue’s Entry on 5/11.
