25 years into their existence as a band, Germany’s Rammstein is getting ready to release their 7th album – their first in 10 years – on May 17. Pre-orders started today
Their brand new video “Deutschland” (and surprise, surprise I would call it NSFW) is 9 minute gory history of Germany. And as always they are pushing hard against boundaries having Germania (the personification of the German nation) portrait by a black actress. The lyrics are also challenging traditional German concepts “Divided in spirit, united in the heart” stands out to me at first listen.
The movie directed by Specter Berlin is not afraid to tackle dark chapters in Germany’s history. With rumors of a long, extended farewell tour in the works, here’s hoping that they Twin Cities will be included.
