POWERS brings the Nylon Music Tour to Minneapolis 4/1

Looking for weekend plans? Come spend your Saturday evening at 7th Street Entry with Los Angeles based electro-pop duo POWERS. This is one of many stops on the Nylon Music Tour and POWERS are supported on tour by newcomers James Hersey and Nick Leng. Tickets are only $17 and are still available HERE.

I first came across POWERS from their verses on the infectiously catchy track Classic by New York kings of feel good music, The Knocks. With a midas touch, pretty much everything The Knocks gets their hands on is gold, and Classic with POWERS is no exception. However, this track just scratches the surface of the musical prowess of POWERS. I first had the chance to see POWERS live when The Knocks brought them on stage for Classic live at their Los Angeles show. Since then POWERS have been turning out bangers such as Sunshine, Heavy and Man On The Moon. Now POWERS is in the midst of their own headlining tour.

POWERS is the brainchild of vocalist Crista Ru and co-vocalist/multi-instrumentalist Mike Del Rio. While their music is undoubtedly feel good electronic pop, this duo pulls inspiration from a myriad of places. Both Ru and Del Rio have rich musical backgrounds which include everything from playing in punk bands to penning hits for Icona Pop and more. POWERS piece together chopped-up live instrumentation, synths, samples, and beats into a sound that’s intricately composed but graced with timeless pop simplicity.POWERS continues to build upon their success and experiences of touring with bands like DNCE and X Ambassadors to take this project to the next level.

Give POWERS a listen below and come see it all live this Saturday at 7th Street!
