British born music icon Nick Lowe is kicking off the New Year with a pair of shows at The Dakota.  Tickets and details can be found HERE.

Few individuals in the rock and roll industry have accomplished what Nick Lowe has managed over a career that spans nearly 50 years.  Whether you know him as a songwriter, pop star or producer…you know him.  The man has left a profound mark on our collective consciousness.

From songs like Cruel To Be Kind, I Knew The Bride (When She Used To Rock n Roll) or (What’s So Funny ‘Bout) Peace, Love and Understanding,  Nick Lowe has penned songs for the ages.  As a producer his contribution is perhaps even greater, albeit less known.  At the console he’s produced some of the finest work by artists like Elvis Costello, The Pretenders and Graham Parker, Johnny Cash and John Hiatt.

As a performer he was a member of short-lived but much loved bands Rockpile and the super group Little Village (John Hiatt, Jim Keltner, Ry Cooder).

Lowe has always been a busy man.  His latest effort has him back on the road, solo and acoustic, playing his songs and telling stories.  These shows are near the end of an extensive tour of Canada and the US.  After a short break, he’ll tour extensively through the UK for another three months.  His shows have been extremely well received.  The New York Times calling them:  “Elegant and nearly devastating!”
