After 17 years Louisville, KY band My Morning Jacket has enough material from their 7 studio albums to do things other bands can. They performed a 3 night in a row in Mexico without repeating a single song. Their US tour has been built on 2 nights in each city. The tour pairs up local opening acts with them and in the Twin Cities case Hippocampus opened Friday and Lizzo on Saturday.

Friday’s show opened in dramatic fashion with the stage hidden behind a white curtain with colorful projections, changing to backlist shadows before dropping about 1/3 into their first song “Believe”. Friday’s set showcased MMJ’s newer material. The Northrop’s ushers had their hands full as fans left their seats to be closer to the stage.

My Morning Jacket treated the audience to 2+ hours of their music each night making it a memorable show for their fans. Many in the audience had tickets for both nights.
