The long Minnesota goodbye to the famed Triple Rock Social Club continues on Friday, November 10th with Mustard Plug. Mustard Plug got their start is small clubs and dive bars back in the early 90’s so it’s only fitting that they get one last chance to play in one of the most legendary small clubs in the American punk scene. With a ska sound that will take you straight back to the 90’s and an energy that will have you dancing around, this is a can not miss show. Although there have been many line-up changes for this now six piece band, one thing has never changed- the fun loving spirit of not only the music, but the musicians. Although this will be my first time seeing them live, I’ve heard from many friends that the electricity that radiates from the stage while they dance their way through their set is something that can not be ignored. It has also been said that if you’re having the worst day ever, seeing Mustard Plug will instantly make everything better. With nearly ten albums out, the set list is sure to be full of new and old favorites along with a couple of b-sides that are sure to have you dancing with strangers with a smile on your face.
Local ska groups Rocksteady Breakfast and Umbrella Bed will be opening up the show. Both of these bands are in my list of favorite locals and are more than worth you coming out to the show early to see it all!
