Matt Nathanson To Play Sold Out Varsity Theater 3/8

Matt Nathanson released his new album, “Sings His Sad Heart” in October of 2018 under label, “Acrobat Records”. Of the new album, Chorus.FM says, “Sings His Sad Heart”, the follow-up to Nathanson’s 2015 LP “Show Me Your Fangs”, is personal instead of political, sad instead of uplifting, and lost in thoughts about the past instead of looking forward to the future. It is a complete contradiction of the album that Nathanson wanted to make. And yet, it’s also the most at home he’s sounded on a record since 2010’s breezy “Modern Love”. Make sure to listen to “Used To Be” from Nathanson’s new album below to get a feel for his recent release.

Of the new record, Nathanson says, “I called the album “Sings His Sad Heart” because I was trying to be funny about the fact that almost all the songs are about loss. I don’t know why either, because my life is real full of beauty these days. Not a lot of loss going on. I guess I’ve got some deep seated stuff I still need to work on…or maybe I got it all out with these songs. Who knows, we’ll see. I’m proud of this record. I’m proud of all of them, actually, but this one is the only one I’ve ever made that I like listening to.”

His tour promoting his new album will be at the Varsity Theater on 3/8. The show is currently sold out, but information regarding the event can be found HERE. I recommend trying to snag tickets through different means as this show is certainly one that shouldn’t be missed!

Opening for Nathanson will be Blu Sanders from Nashville, TN. Check out Sanders’ EP “Heart City” that was released in January of this year to get a feel for his tunes. Being that a majority of Nathanson’s tour is already sold out, I think it promises a memorable evening full of musical talent.
