Describing his own music as “TrapHouseJazz”, Jamaican-American singer and instrumentalist Masego -whose stage name means “blessed” in Botswana’s Tswana language- makes music that walks the fine line between jazz and hip hop. Masego’s debut album, Lady Lady is a 13 track meditation on strong women, released on September 7th of this year on EQT Recordings

Masego is currently on tour for Lady Lady and will be bringing his sultry, sexy sounds to Fine Line Music Cafe in Minneapolis on October 27th. Tickets are still available HERE.

The Fader writes, “‘Lady Lady,’ featuring collaborations with SiR, FKJ, Tiffany Gouche, Kehlani and De’Wayne Jackson, takes us through Masego’s mature coming of age with smooth and silky undertones. The album showcases his many sides: funny, flirty, mysterious and moody. Throughout the 13-track collection of songs, Masego’s genre-defiant sound is on full display as he demonstrates a unique intersection of soul, trap, R&B, jazz, rap, and dance. Pitchfork, The Fader, NPR Music, LA Times, Essence, Nylon and Forbes are all vocal fans.”
