The legendary King Diamond is bringing his 2019 ‘The Institute’ Tour to The Palace Theatre on Tuesday, November 19th.

King Diamond entered the scene in 1986 with the album Fatal Portrait, followed by his unforgettable album, Abigail in 1987. Since then he has released 10 more studio albums, amongst them titles such as ThemThe GraveyardVoodoo, and The Puppet Master. The singer is accompanied by an all star line up of musicians whom have been with King Diamond since 2001. The current line up is: King Diamond (vocals), Andy LaRocque (guitar), Mike Wead (guitar), Pontus Egberg (bass), and Matt Thompson (drums).

A personal favorite of mine- Uncle Acid & The Deadbeats- will be opening up the show. The brainchild of mercurial Cambridgeshire mystic Kevin Starrs, Uncle Acid & The Deadbeats have been making extraordinary music since 2009. Always too bold and idiosyncratic to be easily pigeonholed, they emerged from an obscure corner of the labyrinthine English underground as shadowy purveyors of a new and overwhelmingly psychedelic take on the gruff and gritty rudiments of hard rock and turbo-blues, powered by the dark, lysergic heart of the late ‘60s and early ‘70s and drenched in woozily macabre imagery. Steeped in both the wayward melodies and mischievous arrangements of psychedelic pop and the dissonant thunder of proto-metal and doom, Starrs’ greatest feat has been to create an entirely fresh sonic world from these most familiar of ingredients.

The always amazing Idle Hands kick the night off. Conceived in the summer of 2017 by singer/songwriter Gabriel Franco after the dissolve of his former band SPELLCASTER, IDLE HANDS initially began as a creative outlet for a musically frustrated Franco. With the help of Sebastian Silva, and soon after Colin Vranizan, the team was able to put together a rough studio recording of their first song “Blade and the Will” in early 2018. This track was shopped to labels with no success, but did warrant a small interest from the underground music community.
