KANEHOLLER set the mood early last night with a haunting cover of “Sinnerman” by Nina Simone. It was dark and industrial with a subtle Middle Eastern bounce. If it were a fine wine I’d pair it with a Bugatti driving on a desert highway in slow motion. The rest of the set followed suit for KANEHOLLER as Jon Foster and Chelsea Tyler (the daughter of Steven Tyler) played a precise and professional show. They got the crowd moving early and they didn’t let up. Tyler had the range to belt out runs or linger on notes with finesse.

The set progressed to more danceable songs and left off at precisely the right point for the Ting Tings to take over. It was a delight to see such a polished duo. For more info, their website is here.

Markus: Jon had great stage presence, but experiencing Chelsea from close to the stage shows that a magnetic personality clearly runs in the family.
