Jonny Lang, an American blues, gospel, and rock singer, songwriter, guitarist and recording artist will appear at the Weesner Family Ampitheater at the MN Zoo in Apple Valley, MN on Wednesday, June 27. He has five albums that charted in the top 50 of the Billboard 200 chart and has won a Grammy Award for his 2006 album Turn Around.

Despite being only 36 years old, Jonny Lang has already had a successful career for two decades. He released his first platinum record at 15—an age when most people are just beginning to play music. His first album, Lie to Me revealed a talent that transcended the crop of blues prodigies floating around in the late Nineties. At that early age Lang was a full-blown artist with a style of his own. Also, setting Lang apart from the crowd was a 15-year-old voice that sounded like a weathered soul shouter. What began as a bluesy sound, influenced by electric pioneers like Albert Collins, B. B. King, and Buddy Guy, has evolved over the years into a modern R&B style and contemporary gospel music.

Lang’s latest album Signs was released in late 2017, his first studio album since 2013’s Fight For My Soul. Signs is an album that brings out the best of Jonny Lang in different styles. There is more guitar and blues here than some of Lang’s previous efforts, which should make long time fans happy. And the album also contains other original tracks that expand on Lang’s songwriting ability and range.

Doors open at 7:00 pm and the show will begin with Zane Carney at 7:30. Lang is expected to take the stage around 8:30. Carney – dubbed “The Future Of Electric Guitar” by Huffington Post – is a Singer-Songwriter and GRAMMY® Nominated Guitarist, most known for his work with John Mayer, Avril LaVigne, Broadway’s “Spider-Man: Turn Off The Dark” and LA Based Rock Band CARNEY. He has worked with countless icons including Bono and Edge, David Foster, Justin Timberlake, and Don Was and has shared the stage with Keith Urban, Steven Tyler, Jackson Browne, Nicole Scherzinger, Stevie Wonder and many, many more.

Don’t miss the opportunity to see 2 great blues artists in the unique and beautiful setting of the Weesner Family Amphitheater at the MN Zoo in Apple Valley, MN.
