British band Hot Chip have been around since 2000 and have managed to stay influential in the electronic music genre. Their latest album “Why make sense?” was just released a couple of weeks ago. Saturday’s concert has been sold out for a while.

When Hot Chip walked on stage I expected someone in the crowd to shout: “That’s my Dad up there!” but the old saying about not judging a book by it’s cover proved itself once again. From their opening number “Huarache Lights” on Hot Chip showed why they have been one of the best electronic bands for more than a decade. The audience was dancing and engaged right away. Playing their classic songs as well as many of the songs from their new album the band kept the energy level high.

Having 7 band members and their static gear on stage pushed some of them a bit out of the sight lines. Sound was tight and the band was clearly having fun. Overall, a great show that proves us middle aged guys (and drummer Sarah Jones) can still rock with the best of them.
