Once upon a time I was standing outside of First Avenue. I was talking to a stranger as often happens in betweens sets. We were chatting back and forth about all the shows coming to the Twin Cities this fall. I asked him if he had any shows coming up he was excited about.
His reply, “Gooey Animals,” with a completely straight face.
“Wait, do you mean Glass Animals?” I asked.
“Yeah, yeah Glass Animals. I was thinking of the song Gooey,” he went on. Although I did the imagery of those frosting covered animal crackers melting and getting all gooey.
Glass Animals is coming to the Palace Theater, next Wednesday 9/27. This will be their first time back in the Twin Cities since last year. Tickets are already sold out as this is one of the most anticipated shows of the fall to come through the Palace Theater. Glass Animals has had a busy summer, playing a handful of festivals throughout their native UK and around Europe before returning to the states for a run of shows.
They are touring in support of their 2016 album How To Be A Human Being. However, the St. Paul crowd at The Palace should expect many surprises from this Oxford-based four piece. They’ve had the Twittersphere abuzz after their dozens of show this summer.
It’s guaranteed to be a gooey, good time.
