French double-bassist Francois Rabbath may be better known as a teacher than as a performer, but his stunning performances for audiences around the world have truly dispelled this notion. On Monday, July 25th at the Augustana Lutheran Church in West St. Paul, you will have a chance to see this amazing artist in a live performance that will be breathtaking and very emotional as well as technically and sonically beautiful.
Rabbath’s innovations in music theory has changed the way thousands of contrabassists approach their instruments. Born in Syria in 1931, Rabbath has lived in France for decades. With performances typically accompanied by his son Sylvain Rabbath on piano, the bassist will astonish and delight the audience both young and those young at heart.
