Guitar virtuoso Daryl Steurmer will perform at The Dakota April 18.  Tickets and details can be found HERE.

Few six string players have performed for as many people as former Genesis lead guitarist Daryl Stuermer.  Originally hailing from just down I-94 in Milwaukee, Stuermer first gained notice touring with Jazz Rock fusion violinist Jon Luc Ponty.  After the stint with Ponty he teamed up with Genesis’ Phil Collins.  Together, they produced some of rock music’s most iconic sounds  the late 70’s and into the 80’s.  For those of us who appreciated the Prog Rock heyday, Stuermer is held in the same regard as Yes’ Steve Howe and Pink Floyd’s David Gilmour.

Following the demise of Genesis, Stuermer became the right hand man for Phil Collins and has been with him for every subsequent tour.  Along the way, he has managed to record nine solo records in which he has been able to explore both his jazz and rock roots.

This tour he has joined forces with classically trained Russian keyboardist Kostia.  Expect an evening of original compositions and adaptations of Genesis classics.  All in the intimate confines of one of the Twin Cities finest venues.
