Get ready for a night of nostalgia and angst! Underoath will be bringin their Erase Me Tour to The Skyway Theatre on Wednesday, November 28th. Underoath is a Grammy-nominated American rock band from Tampa, Florida. Two of the band’s releases: “They’re Only Chasing Safety” and “Define the Great Line” have both gained a certified gold rating, and helped give them mainstream and commercial success. On October 2, 2012, Underoath announced that they would be disbanding in 2013. However, they announced their reunion on August 17, 2015. Underoath released their eighth studio album (and first album in 8 years), “Erase Me” on April 6, 2018.
Personal favorite of mine- Dance Gavin Dance- will be opening up for Underoath. Dance Gavin Dance is a six-member post-hardcore/experimental band from Sacramento, California. They were formed out of the dissolution of several other bands including Farewell Unknown, Ghost Runner on Third and Atherton. Jonny Craig and Sean O’Sullivan joined in 2005 and early 2006 to complete the line-up. They self-released their first EP, “Whatever I Say Is Royal Ocean,” during the summer of 2006. Shortly afterwards, they were approached and then signed by Rise Records and the EP was re-released with the Rise and Victory labels on November 14th, 2006. Their full length CD, titled “Downtown Battle Mountain,” came out on May 15th.
Crown the Empire, who is also joining in on the fun, was formed in July 2010 by Andrew Velasquez, Austin Duncan, Hayden Tree, and Brandon Hoover during their time together in high school. The band’s ultimate goal was to “be heavier than most bands in their area,” while “bringing huge, poppy choruses to a genre that can become pretty stale.” The band started recording their debut EP, Limitless, in 2011. Limitless was released in 2011. The band is currently working on new music while taking part in the last ever Vans Warped Tour.
Kicking the night off will be The Plot in You. The Plot in You is a rock band, formed in Hancock County, Ohio in 2010. Originally a side project of former Before Their Eyes member Landon Tewers, the group is composed of Tewers, guitarist Josh Childress, bassist Ethan Yoder and drummer Mathis Arnell. On June 15, 2017, The Plot in You parted ways with Stay Sick Recordings and announced their signing to Fearless Records and announced their fourth LP Dispose, which was released on February 16, 2018.
