Embrace the Darkness on Sunday 3/12 at the Amsterdam with Kite and Abbey Death

If all the excitement around the Palace Theatre opening weekend and two sold out Hippo Campus show at First Avenue’s main room have you scrambling for something darker, less happy the Amsterdam in St. Paul may have the cure for you Sunday night. Swedish dark pop duo Kite is headed into town bringing Brooklyn’s Abbey Death with them (just in case you needed healthy dose of extra dark). Tickets are still available HERE

Part of the Kilted Farmer Koncerts series it’s one of several shows that are produced by the local promoter this year.

Founded in 2008 Kite has released 6 albums and has a brand new single “Demons & Shame”. The duo of Christian Berg and Nicklas Stenemo has gotten a lot of attention in Europe. Describing them as pop does not do them justice. As CoS put it “Theirs is a dark, droning version of the genre focused on gripping electronic sounds and pounding rhythms.”

Abbey Death is the collobaration of Abbey Nex and Valerie Abbey (former Cruxshadows guitarist). Where Kite is dark and moody, Abbey Death pushes the envelope more and has a dangerous vibe to it.

Opening the evening will be local band Echo Signal.
