My best friend from high school made the four hour trek from Des Moines, IA up here just to see Royal Canoe last time they were in town. Of course I went to the show with him and, since then, I have been craving the chance to catch this Canadian band again. Well, my chance has come and you should join me! Royal Canoe will be stopping at The 7th Street Entry on Monday, September 11th. These guys are in no way, shape, or form a new band but they seem to have stayed relatively underground… until now. It seems that their newest release “Something Got Lost Between Here And The Orbit” has catapulted them into the spotlight. This six piece had me sold with their live show so, even if you haven’t heard their music, they are definitely a must see act. The amount of energy and passion they have is undeniable and it radiates from the stage while they play. I think that the next time they come to town, they will be playing a much bigger venue so don’t miss this chance to see them before they “get too big”!
Local Mariah Mercedes and Iowa born (but Montreal raised) Little Scream will be opening the night. Tickets are available here and they are cheap cheap cheap so you have no excuse to not go.
