Yes, break out those neon clothes you thought you left behind when you left your emo stage in life- Hellogoodbye is making a comeback and a stop at The 7th Street Entry on Sunday, May 12th.

You see it’s been five years since Forrest Kline, mastermind behind the eternally shapeshifting indie-pop band Hellogoodbye, released any new music. It takes time to dive as deep as the new album S’Only Natural (2018) does; here, Forrest encourages a life lived loudly over the course of 12 undeniable anthems of individuality. There are just as many ballads as there are all-out dance parties, but they’ve all got this one message in common––be yourself unapologetically and love with everything you’ve got.

If there’s one song that defines what Hellogoodbye’s new album S’Only Natural is all about, look no further than its title track and accompanying video. Directed by fashion photographer Andrew Lee, the colorful video is the song’s perfect match, an ode to celebrating life outside of the expectations of others. Commenting on the new single, Kline describes it as: “A love letter to downtown at dusk and the potency of diversity it offers. When the sun sets on a busy city block, deep dim lights give way to big bright personalities. You need not hide in the city at night. You can be free in the city at night.”

Hala will be joining Hellogoodbye as an opener. Recording under the moniker Hala, 21 year old Ian Ruhala writes songs that feel fresh, bright, but insightful, out of his home in Detroit, Michigan. It is the kind of music that one would expect to hear at the beginning of a movie or short film, alongside opening credits. With a prolific output, Hala stresses the importance of the songwriting and production process, as much as the final product.

Family of Geniuses will get the night started in the most perfect way. Family Of Geniuses… pop music tailored for the dance floor. Formed in 2017, initially as a songwriting/production outlet by Augustine Rampolla, Family Of Geniuses quickly evolved into a diverse collective of artists and collaborators primarily based in Chicago, IL.
