The 4th of July is one of my favorite holidays. It’s not because of the barbecues, cold drinks, and fireworks– it’s because of D4th of July– Dillinger Four’s annual show that never fails to leave me exhausted, drunk, and smiling. This mini one-day festival had always been held in the parking lot of the Triple Rock (RIP) but this year the torch is being handed over to Grumpy’s Downtown. Although the location has changed along with the entire punk landscape in the Twin Cities, one thing hasn’t changed– this is a can’t miss show for anyone and everyone!

Dillinger Four- Local heroes- Dillinger Four is an influential American punk rock band formed in 1994 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. They have released four full-length studio albums. Since 1996, the band’s lineup has been Patrick Costello on bass guitar and vocals, Erik Funk and Bill Morrisette on guitars and vocals, and Lane Pederson on drums.
Boris the Sprinkler- Boris the Sprinkler was founded in Green Bay in 1992 by Reverend Nørb (vocals) and Paul #1 (guitar). Nørb’s lyrics and the band’s style were self-consciously irreverent, tongue-in-cheek, and referential to other aspects of pop culture, influenced by punk rock groups such as The Dickies, The Rezillos, and The Ramones. The group often dressed in flamboyant styles such as “zebra-print tights and gold lamé body suits”.
Off With Their Heads- More local heroes- Off with Their Heads is an American punk rock band formed in 2002 from Minneapolis, Minnesota, United States. Since their formation, they have often featured a rotating line-up of tour players, due to their members’ other commitments and Off With Their Heads’ own full-time touring schedule. Singer/guitarist Ryan Young has noted that having different musicians helps keep the band fresh.
