I feel like there are a million great shows coming up but this is definitely one that can’t be missed. Coheed & Cambria and Taking Back Sunday will be co-headlining The Armory on Wednesday, July 25th. “It’s funny, we’ve been friends all of this time but we’ve never done a full tour together,” comments Taking Back Sunday drummer Mark O’Connell. “We ran into each other at some festivals last year and got to talking about it and here we are.” This, people, is seriously a show that you will want to be at.

Coheed and Cambria is an American progressive rock band from Nyack, New York, formed in 1995. The band consists of Claudio Sanchez (lead vocals, guitars, keyboards), Travis Stever (guitars, backing vocals), Josh Eppard (drums, keyboards, backing vocals), and Zach Cooper (bass, backing vocals) The group’s music incorporates aspects of progressive rock, pop, heavy metal, and post-hardcore. Most of Coheed and Cambria’s albums are concept albums based on a science fiction storyline called The Amory Wars, a series written by Claudio Sanchez, which has been transcribed into a series of comic books as well as a full-length novel. The band has released eight studio albums, three live albums, and several special-edition releases. Their most recent release, The Color Before the Sun, is the band’s first non-conceptual album since their inception. It reached #10 on the Billboard 200. Its predecessors The Afterman: DescensionYear of the Black Rainbow and Good Apollo, I’m Burning Star IV, Volume One: From Fear Through The Eyes of Madness all reached the top 10 as well.

Taking Back Sunday is an American rock band from Long Island, New York. The band was formed by guitarist Eddie Reyes in 1999. The band’s members are Adam Lazzara (lead vocals), John Nolan (lead guitar, keyboards, vocals), Shaun Cooper (bass guitar), and Mark O’Connell (drums). Nolan is the only remaining founding member; Nolan had also left the group in 2003 before rejoining in 2010. The band has released studio albums with various past members Fred Mascherino (guitar, vocals), Matthew Rubano (bass guitar), Matthew Fazzi (guitar, keyboards, vocals), and Eddie Reyes (guitar). Louder Now (2006) was the band’s breakout mainstream album, notably because of the popularity of its lead single “MakeDamnSure”. The album sold over 900,000 copies and peaked at No. 2 on the United States Billboard 200, surpassing the band’s previous Billboard 200 peak in 2004 at No. 3 with Where You Want to Be.

Kicking the night off will be the one and only The Story So Far.
