Cherub and GIBBZ will be rolling into Minneapolis on November 23rd at First Avenue – so get your “doses and mimosas” ready to go! Cherub’s work is usually heard within the confines of clubs and house parties, yet their origins might be quite the opposite of what one might come to expect. Originating from Nashville, Tennessee came this electro-indie duo that started in the year of 2010 at Middle Tennessee State University. Cherub has released 3 albums since, as well as 4 extended plays since then and is most notably adored for their party anthem “Doses and Mimosas” which can be heard anywhere from a college fraternity party to a wedding reception – it’s simply iconic. Other hits from the duo are “All In,” “Body Language” and “Want That.”
Joining Cherub will be “renaissance man” GIBBZ. This character started his professional career in New York as a child actor, till his studying of music in college from which he has managed to segway into his electro pop profession. Starting out as a sound engineer and tour manager, he has changed hats in an impressive fashion. When he isn’t performing himself he is helping write songs for groups like Cherub themselves – maybe we’ll hear one that night?
