The first time I saw Charlie Parr was a 2014’s Travail Lakeside Party on a perfect summer day. Even though I had no clue who he was, I was deeply impressed by his music and the cool vibe emanating from the stage. You, know – the IT factor, the genuine article. This wasn’t a performance that was the essence of blues right there on that stage.
I have seen him a few times since both solo and with his band The Devil’s Flying Machine and walked away impressed from each set. Hailing from Austin, MN Parr has become a staple in the MN blues scene and is getting ready to release his new album “Dog” on Red House Records on 9/8.
