Brittany Howard, the lead vocalists and guitarists of Grammy-winning soul and rock band Alabama Shakes and Thunderbitch will be releasing a new debut solo album and will be coming to St. Paul’s Palace Theatre Sept. 19.

On Brittany Howard’s website she shares a personal letter about her inspirations of her new record titled “Jaime”. Which is written “as a process of healing”. Brittany is dedicating the title of her album to her sister who passed away as a teenager, who was also a musician and taught Howard how to play piano. With the name of the title, Brittany hopes that hearing her name will give gratitude to what her sister shared.

Howard is currently touring North America and will continue her tour in Europe. The new album “Jaime” is not written about her sister, but unapologetically for herself. Howard was inspired by traveling across the United States, from seeing the natural landscapes, and “beautiful and many heartbreaking things: poverty, loneliness, discouraged people, empty and poor towns.”.

Brittany Howard will be performing at St. Paul’s Palace Theatre on September 19th with MonoNeon, which will be one day before “Jaime” is set to be released on September 20th. A few tickets are still available HERE.
