Seldom do you see an act as appreciative to be on stage as Bret Michaels was Friday night when he kicked it old school and rocked Treasure Island for a SOLD OUT Valentines Day show. With no opening band, the show kicked into full gear a little after 8PM. Opening with Poison’s megahit “Talk Dirty to Me,” the concert became an immediate rocking evening in full-gear party fashion. Time and time again during his set, Bret stopped to say how happy he was to be there and the crowd ate up every minute of it. It set a nice tone for a performance that, much to the fans’ delight was injected with a whole lot of Poison, which increased the overall party atmosphere.

You know that age-old debate about whether or not you should wear a T-shirt with the band on it that you are going to see in concert that night. Well, Brett blew that debate right out of the water. He wore a black T-shirt, with a picture of himself on the front. He also donned his triple-thick red bandanna throughout the show and even wore his red, white and blue cowboy hat as part of a tribute to the military.

Bret was almost in the role of party MC and rock star, but man he was having fun and he never ran out of energy. Bret rolled through the biggies from Poison. Each time he curiously introduced the song, it met with immediate cheers and screams from the crowd. The crowd literally came unglued as the two huge hits, “Every Rose Has Its Thorns” and “Nothin’ But A Good Time”, were played during the set. The arena filled loudly with the crowd singing along.

As Bret winds down his solo tour, a new chapter is on the horizon in the form of a Poison Tour. The original members will be heading out on tour with Motley Crue, Def Leppard, and Joan Jett for big stadium shows starting June 18th in Jacksonville, FL.
