Sims will be headlining a benefit show for Hopewell Music Cooperative North at The Fine Line on Saturday, December 1st. Hopewell was created to inspire North Minneapolis students to grow, discover, and express themselves through music. Our mission is to help students achieve their
full potential in music and life through high-quality music instruction and a community that is lasting and engaged. Profits from the show will be going directly to Hopewell. That plus a stellar line-up, you’re kind of a Grinch if you pass up on this show.

Headlining the benefit will be Sims (of Doomtree). Life and loss and dance parties. Sex and love and fractal math. Sims wrote More Than Ever last winter in the wake of some personally trying times: death and sickness in his immediate circle of friends and family. And he decided that the only acceptable answer to big loss is big joy—urgent, defiant, unapologetic joy. The thirteen tracks on More Than Ever capture Sims coming to, and living out, that conclusion.

Air Credits will be joining Sims. AIR CREDITS (The Hood Internet x ShowYouSuck) is music from the not too distant future, when the planet’s water supply has all but ceased, the landscape turning to desert, the desert turning to wasteland. Radio stations worldwide have been transformed into climate controlled compounds, guarded heavily by their surrounding communities not only to maintain communique with the declining population, but to preserve music new and old.

Still not enough for you? Let’s throw Chance York into the mix as another act. Chance York (Slim Chance) is a Minneapolis-born writer, and emcee. Work with his bands, Crunchy Kids and Eric Mayson’s Detail, brought much attention to Chance as he launched as a solo act. He first released the Fed and Famished EP in April 2016. That spurred an abundance of local and regional shows, including opening for Chance the Rapper, DRAM, Saba, Chester Watson and more.

On top of all of that there will also be appearances by Big Cats and Hoops (DJ Rowsheen & Babyghost). I’m sure there will be a couple surprised on top of all of that also.

Tickets are still available here.

Can’t make it to the show? Feel free to check out Hopewell and everything they do for the community here and donate directly to them here.
