Barenaked Ladies is a Canadian four piece band who has been around since 1988. With dozens of albums and countless hit singles, I don’t think I know one person who wouldn’t recognize one of their songs. From movies, to TV shows, to every easy listening and 90s rock radio station, anyone who claims to not know their music must have been living in solitude for the last few decades. Hearing the sound of the Barenaked Ladies blasting from the backseat of my parents’ minivan is one of the more vivid memories I have from childhood.
Speaking of songs you somehow know every word to- KT Tunstall’s “Black Horse and the Cherry Tree” is another mid-2000s staple. Add a little “Suddenly I See” and “Feel It All” go the mix and you’ve got a solid sing along playlist for any girls weekend or family barbecue.
